1. You are what you eat and drink. Be mindful of what you choose to fuel your body with and the effects food may have on your skin. Dont forget to hydrate. If you find you are thirsty in the day, you may already be dehydrated. Start your day with one or two glasses of pure spring water and continue to hydrate. Keep a bottle of water at hand to increase circulation of all the body's functions. Include antioxidant supplements to your diet to help fight the damage of free radicals which is great for the health of your body and complexion!
2. Cleanse your face twice with warm, not hot water. The first cleanse washes away dirt, oil and make-up.
The second cleanse allows your skin to receive all the benefits of your cleanser. You may choose to have
separate cleansers: one to remove make-up specifically; the second to target demanding needs (these may
be temporary or change seasonally). You can’t go wrong with a basic, gentle cleanser. Lather in hands to
gently work over the entire face and neck each time you cleanse. Rinse well with cool water.
3. Exfoliate twice a week. This is the step we most often skip. Cell turnover happens naturally, but
congestion occurs when dead skin is not removed. This can clog pores, causing breakouts and a dull
complexion. Many products are designed to remove dead skin. Exfoliating masks or peels break down
the epidermis with powerful enzymes that require no “scrubbing.” (This method works with all skin types
especially sensitive or acneac skin). If using a scrub, however, remember to be gentle. Simply glide your
fingertips on the skin in a small, circular motion – there’s no need to sandpaper your face! Let the product
do the work.
4. Always use a toner. After rinsing with tap water which may contain chlorine and additives, it is
necessary to neutralize the skin, returning it to it’s natural pH level. Think of your skin after using a toner as a blank canvas ready to reap the rewards of your chosen treatment and/or moisturizer.
5. Address specific needs. Continued use of serums containing antioxidants help with your skin’s ability
to combat lines, wrinkles, and overall aging. Our complexion becomes more even-toned, smoother and
glows from within when using quality natural skin products. Masks are a necessary addition for radiant
skin. Finding time is key: if you are unable to close your eyes and rest while masking, try multi-tasking at
home: you can mask while doing household chores.
6. Protect from the sun with a sunscreen and moisturize. Using a sunscreen helps with anti-aging by preventing the loss of collagen
which keeps the skin firm. Finish with a moisturizer. Even oily complexions need hydration. Many natural
moisturizers contain essential oils that are not oily but help balance and nourish the skin.
